August 22 - September 22

We are all made of stardust.
As above, so below. As within, so without.
Astrology is a wonderful tool to explore aspects of ourselves and our connection to the cosmos.
This is my monthly blog series where I follow the Sun's movement through each of the 12 zodiac seasons, diving into their themes and their connections to us, our lives, and our bodies.
Each month we'll talk about the energy & vibes of that season's sign. You'll learn a bit more about me, but also, I hope for you to learn something new about yourself and your birth chart as well :)
And this season, I am posting 6 days LATE! Sorry, Virgos! But, I'm sure my sister sign will give me some grace (I'm a Pisces Sun and Virgo is it's opposite/sister sign), it's eclipse season after all!!

One of my cousins and then my sister asked me the other day, what does it mean when you say you're feeling the eclipse energy? Well, this shows up differently for everyone, but how it shows up for me is a "wired, but tired" energy, nervous system getting stuck in freeze, high anxiety, and unpredictable sleep with wild dreams.
I get through these symptoms with trust.
Trust that all of the shifts and changes and disruptions during the weeks surrounding the eclipses are for my highest good. Less force, more flow. I try to find amusement in the unraveling of it all. And I make sure I am nourishing myself and doing the practices that keep me centered & grounded.
Let me know in the comments how you've been feeling, what you've noticed in your bodies, and what you're doing for self-care.

And, without further ado, let's talk about Virgo...
Virgo is a mutable earth sign. Mutable signs are situated at the end of each season (winter, spring, summer, fall), embodying adaptability, flexibility, and open-mindedness (and sometimes over-thinking or scatteredness). Earth signs are grounded, practical, hardworking, and reliable.
Virgo is ruled by Mercury, the planet associated with the mind & communication. That's probably why Virgo placements are so detail-oriented and great problem solvers.
Its symbol is the Virgin (aka Maiden), representing purity, but not in the patriarchal mindset version of it. Pure as in sovereign and belonging to oneself.
When I think of Virgo, I think perceptivity, discernment, devotion, thoughtfulness, efficiency, and resourcefulness. Beautiful!

Body & Self Care...
Each zodiac sign rules/ is associated with an
area of the body. Virgo rules the intestines, digestive system, and gut-brain axis. This makes me think of "gut feelings" or "knowing something in your gut". This is body wisdom. Virgo processes, organizes, breaks down, and digests. It discerns and refines. Absorbing the good, eliminating the not so good. This also makes me think of Leo being the heart and how Virgo energy grounds tht heart spark into the body and into your physical life.
Virgo energy gets our routines and processes in order. It's small daily actions and sustainable habits for health. Grounding activities like getting outside with your feet or hands in the earth will be beneficial. Try revamping your spiritual practices, deep cleaning your space, and finding ways to be of service to people or places that mean something to you. It's an ideal time to tend to your health and your body. Time to set up regular self-care -- perhaps a massage at Cosmic Body Massage Therapy :) Join our membership by scheduling bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly appointments.
Ok, time to pull up your birth chart and continue reading...

You may calculate this for free on astro.com, as well as on a plethora of astrology apps out there (I suggest the Chani App - which has a free and a paid version).
Where is Virgo in your chart?
Once you know your rising sign, you'll know which house Virgo lands in for you. This will flavor your season with these themes. Astrology is such a beautiful layering and weaving of all the things - just like us. So, remember that many cycles are occurring simultaneously and we are just looking at one aspect for this blog :)
I encourage you to go deeper and explore your chart as fully as you desire to.
So, if you are a Leo Rising like me, the Sun is now transiting your 2nd House of assets, resources, talents, money, & worth. It's usually a good time to look at your finances and budget, etc. But I also find it helpful not to forget the worth aspect of this house. How am I grounding my vision? Leo season hyped us up and brightened our heart-centered visions, and Virgo is like, what are you doing about it? Let's get organized and let's get a system in place.

Another layer to look at as we go through each zodiac sign every month is what other planets or points are in that sign/house. For me, I have my South Node in Virgo. The Nodes of Fate are soul-points in our chart, signaling where your soul is headed/ your dharma/ your North Node and where your soul is coming from/ your karma/ your South Node. These points are also associated with eclipses, as they occur when a full or new moon occurs near one of the Nodes.
The South Node in Virgo suggests the need to let go of Virgo's shadow traits, in order to reach the potential of the North Node. This looks like shedding patterns of perfectionism, control, over-analysis, and hyper-criticism. sigh
A wildcard placement, Haumea, dwarf planet representing themes of childbirth, fertility, rapid creation & rebirth, also resides in Virgo in my chart.
I found this interesting as I birthed and mother a Virgo (my son who celebrated his 17th birthday on 8/25). Now, Haumea is a slow-moving planet, like Pluto or Neptune, so the effects are broader and more generational (less personal), but astrology is cool.
Here's the breakdown for the rest of the rising signs where Virgo lands for you and where the sun is shining a light in your life this season:
