Cosmic Body: Libra Season
Updated: Sep 27
September 22 - October 23

As above, so below. As within, so without.
We are all made of stardust.
Astrology is a wonderful tool to explore aspects of ourselves and our connection to the Cosmos.
This is my monthly blog series where I follow the Sun's movement through each of the 12 zodiac seasons, diving into their themes and their connections to us, our lives, and our bodies.
Each month we'll talk about the energy & vibes of that season's sign. You'll learn a bit more about me, but also, I hope for you to learn something new about yourself and your birth chart as well :)
And this season, rather than apologize for my "lateness" like I did last month, I will shift to this...
"a wizard is never late, nor is he early; he arrives precisely when he means to". Thank you, Gandalf <3
I am learning as I go with this blog writing and my creative process. I find it helpful to sit in the energy of the sign for a bit before writing about it. So, that is what I will be doing.
And, without further ado, let's talk about Libra...

Libra is a cardinal air sign. Cardinal signs are the first sign of each season (winter, spring, summer, fall), embodying initiatory, ambitious, trailblazing energy. Air signs are communicative, intellectual, sociable, and build connections.
Libra is ruled by Venus, the planet associated with love, beauty, art, and values. That's probably why Libra placements seek harmony, tend to have excellent style, and embody flirty, charming energy.
It's symbol, the scales, represents balance, equality, and justice. It makes sense that the equinox is the 1st day of Libra season, where day and night are equal parts. Libra sees both or all sides to something, which can prove to be very useful for mediation, but not necessarily decision making.
When I think of Libra, I think of fairness & reciprocity, connection & relationship, peacekeeping & bridgebuilding. Ah, yes, we could all use some Libra energy <3

Body & Self Care...
Each zodiac sign rules/ is associated with an area of the body. Libra rules the lower back, glutes, kidneys, and overall equilibrium (fluid balance, filtration, hormones). This makes me think of "bending over backwards" for others and how this can be a shadow trait of Libra, when they lean too far into others and forget themselves. Standing tall & strong in your core & your self will help you find true balance where both self and other are considered. And, finally, proper hydration keeps things fluid (happy tissues/fascia) and helps flush toxins, keeping your kidneys happy, too.

Libra season invites you to bring your awareness to the balance between giving & receiving, effort & rest, others & self - and then remedy any imbalances. It invites you to see your relationships as mirrors and to see the sacred in every encounter.
This season, nourish those relationships to others AND to yourself. Enjoy the beauty in your surroundings -- go to an art gallery, museum, or a walk in nature; Decorate your home with cozy autumn vibes; Host a dinner party; Participate in the social justice cause of your choice; Go to an art or dance class (shake your booty!); Go to a yoga class, see the chiropractor, and/or get a massage (with focus on the lower back).

Ok, it's time to pull up your birth chart and continue reading...
You may calculate this for free on astro.com, as well as on a plethora of astrology apps out there (I suggest the Chani App - which has a free and a paid version).
Where is Libra in your chart?
Once you know your rising sign, you'll know which house Libra lands in for you. This will flavor your season with these themes. Astrology is such a beautiful layering and weaving of all the things - just like us. So, remember that many cycles are occurring simultaneously and we are just looking at one aspect for this blog :) I encourage you to go deeper and explore your chart as fully as you desire to.

So, if you are a Leo Rising like me, the Sun is now transiting your 3rd House of communication, daily rituals, siblings, extended family. This is a prime time to look at everyday life and see where things are in or out of balance. It's also a great time to be mindful of conversations that come up and the art of communicating and listening. Virgo season helped us create the systems for our lives and now Libra season is asking "what is it all for?" Perhaps it's for enjoying & sharing, connection & relationship.
Another layer to look at as we go through each zodiac sign every month is what other planets or points are in that sign/house.
For me, I have my IC (Imum Coeli/"bottom of the heavens") in Libra. The IC is a point at the bottom of your chart - it's one of the angles like the AC (ascendant/rising ) and DC (descendant), and it is opposite the MC (midheaven) in your chart. This point represents your roots and inner world, your homes, parents and ancestral karma. Having this point in Libra could mean a childhood that required peacekeeping or being taught to sacrifice the self for others. On a lighter note, it could also indicate the strong sense of social justice, a desire for harmony in the home and a comfort & delight in hosting gatherings.
Here's the breakdown for the rest of the rising signs, where Libra lands for you, and where the sun is shining a light in your life this season:
